BREAKING NEWS: FG Launches C.L.I.C.K.D. Scheme. In a major push to deepen digital inclusion and empower the national workforce, the Federal Government of Nigeria has officially unveiled a landmark device financing initiative. The newly launched program, known as the C.L.I.C.K.D. (Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity and Knowledge Digital Devices) scheme, is designed to help citizens acquire laptops, smartphones, tablets, and internet tools through structured, flexible payment plans.

The initiative was officially launched in Abuja by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, under the leadership of Minister Dr. Bosun Tijani, in strategic partnership with the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) led by Managing Director Uzoma Nwagba. The primary goal of the C.L.I.C.K.D. scheme is to remove long-standing financial barriers, allowing working professionals, students, and tech talents to own essential productivity tools without making full upfront cash payments.

The program places a heavy emphasis on supporting local industries by prioritizing locally assembled digital devices. During the flag-off ceremony in the Federal Capital Territory, the government presented the first batch of 77 locally assembled laptops to qualified beneficiaries. CREDICORP confirmed that this initial phase will roll out 1,000 locally made laptops to fellows under the Three Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative, with plans already underway to expand device credit access to over 15,000 working Nigerians across all 36 states.

To ensure widespread economic impact, eligibility for the C.L.I.C.K.D. device credit has been made broad and inclusive. Those eligible to benefit include salary-earning employees, freelancers, self-employed business owners, university students, active NYSC corps members, and job seekers. Additionally, participants enrolled in recognized digital training programs—such as 3MTT, Andela Learning Community, ALX, AltSchool Africa, HNG Internship, and Genesys Tech Hub—are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifying for the device loan requires applicants to demonstrate a clear operational need for technology in learning, remote employment, freelancing, software development, or business growth. Devices available under the program include high-performance laptops, internet-enabled smartphones, tablets, and digital connectivity kits, with repayment schedules structured around the applicant’s income reality.
